This is my fourth annual Project Beauty shoot, and it is still hands down my favorite shoot of the year. Our shoot happened back in August and, as usual, I asked the girls to come in with NO makeup so that we could capture each girl's God-given natural beauty. Due to COVID we were unable to take group photos, so instead, we invited some friends to join us and took the opportunity to reflect and celebrate the wonderful diversity of our community and the fact that we are all beautiful in our own unique ways.
I'm so thankful to each and every Project Beauty participant - I know how difficult it can be to put yourself out there in this way. You are all stunning and precious just the way you are, and most importantly, your inner beauty is just as bright as your outer beauty. Keep letting your lights shine!
Keep scrolling to meet each girl and hear what they had to say about the experience or beauty in general.
"Project Beauty helped my self confidence grow so much! I now don’t only feel internally beautiful, but I feel externally beautiful as well. It’s very rewarding to see how happy and confident everyone is with themselves. Everyone in this world is naturally beautiful and I learned that we shouldn’t be afraid to show it off!" ~ Caroline
"The overall shoot was amazing. I feel 10/10 about myself. I know I’m beautiful on the inside, but now I feel it on the outside as well. For the other girls, BE YOURSELF, you are beautiful without makeup!" ~ Shaniia
"I love this shoot because I think it’s super important to embrace your God given beauty. Even though I really never wear makeup, it was still a little weird being in front of the professional camera without a hair and makeup crew, but I’m so glad I got to experience it! I love the way the photos turned out and I hope everyone else that did the shoot can see just how naturally beautiful they are.” ~ Makenzie
"Being a part of this project helped me appreciate the beauty that God has blessed me with. In this day and age, it is so easy to get caught up in social media and start to compare yourselves to other girls. You start questioning your worth based upon how you look, how others think of you solely just on what you wear, etc. At the end of the day, we are wonderfully made by Him and we should all remember that!” ~ Avery
"Although I never really wear makeup, this shoot still made me feel super confident and happy. I was able to just be myself in front of the camera and let loose. I think it is important for people to just be themselves whether they are in front of a camera or not. It was also a nice break from everything going on. :)” ~ Caroline
"Psalm 139:14: I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and that, my soul knows very well." ~ Bitty
"There's beauty in every skin tone, every shade, every body type, every scar, and freckle. Every variation that we have even if it goes against society. I just wish there was some way to explain this to the girls that have already grown up with this pressure on their back to be something that's not even obtainable. In the last month, I've literally had conversations with girls my age about body and beauty standards and how we're so tired of conforming to the rules. I've always wanted to do something like this so thank you so much again for inviting me!” ~ Kiara
"Self confidence is something that truly comes from within. Beauty and self confidence are one, and this shoot really made me feel mine." ~ Taylor
"True beauty is loving yourself from within.” ~ Zariah
"I loved this shoot because it gave me more self confidence in myself. It’s so hard now a days to not compare ourselves to others on social media. This shoot gave me an opportunity to see how blessed I am and see the natural beauty in me. I believe that all girls should do a shoot like this to remind them that they don’t need to be pretty with makeup on.” ~ Maggie
"I had a great time and I think everyone should do something like project beauty. It’s a great feeling to feel good in your own skin!” ~ Alexis
" I really liked the Project Beauty shoot. I think it is a humbling illustration of what it means to be comfortable in your own skin, and letting your inner beauty be the focus.” ~ Caroline
"Love yourself in whatever skin you’re in! I feel as if no matter what color you are or how you look it is important to embrace what you have been given!” ~ Kaia
"True beauty is something that comes from within.” ~ Elly
